Belli Sr., AAA of California (CSAA), and Gap Inc .
As a CEO, an entrepreneur and a start-up consultant, Arthur has raised over US$100M in venture funding from top tier Silicon Valley venture firms for several startup ventures in the software, biofuels, fuel cell, medical device, and internet technology spaces.
As a co-founder and Vice President at Linuxcare (now Levanta, Inc.), Arthur established professional service organizations in Europe and Asia, built channel relationships in Asia, and performed M&A work in Korea, Mainland China and Japan. Later, as the General Manager for Asia Pacific of Levanta, he worked with the VP of Worldwide Sales to establish channel and reseller networks in Korea and Japan.
Arthur also recently co-founded Sputnik, Inc, in San Francisco, a provider of location aware WiFI based advertising solutions, where he is currently Chairman of the Board. He has also been interim CEO for a software development company in Dalian, China, where he set-up the venture on behalf of investors in London, UK and Silicon Valley California. As CTO of the Free Standards Group, he launched the first government-sponsored Linux certification program in Mainland China with participation from Intel and the China Electronics Standards Institute.
Previously, Arthur acted as Information Systems Director for the Law Offices of Melvin M. Belli Sr., created the infrastructure, calendaring, case support and databases supporting the Exxon (Valdes), Dow Corning (implants), and Union Carbide (Bophal) cases. He was also previously the Client Services Manager for CSAA, leading the back office infrastructure re-engineering project for the ERS (Emergency Road Service); their flagship customer offering resulting in 65% cost savings while quadrupling customer service capacity.
Arthur Tyde was recently voted among the 100 Smartest People by Smart Reseller, the 50 most important people in Linux, and featured in publications including Network World, The Industry Standard, the Harvard Business Review and frequently quoted in Internet Week, Financial Times, The Economist and various other publications. Mr. Tyde is a highly sought after speaker and expert on computer security policy issues and enterprise open source integration. He lives in Asia but is available worldwide.
Arthur received his Bachelors in Telecommunications from Michigan State University. He is the founder and past president of the Silicon Valley, San Francisco Bay Area Linux Users group, and he is licensed in the State of California as a Private Investigator, and a private pilot.
